CAJUN BANANA SMOOTHIE
Yield: 1 Batch

1 Large ripe banana, sliced
Thin
1/2 c Fresh strawberries sliced
Thin
1/4 c Skim milk (2%)
1 ts Brown sugar
1/2 c Banana yogurt
1 oz Dark rum
1 oz Banana brandy
1/4 ts Orange peel grated

GARNISH
3 Slices banana
3 Sprigs mint
3 Whole strawberries

Place bananas & strawberries in a bowl and freeze. Remove after
frozen & place in a blender. Add skim milk, yogurt, orange peel, &
sugar. blend at medium speed until thick. Add rum & brandy. Pour into
a chilled champagne saucer. Arrange strawberries,banana slices, &
mint on long toothpicks. Rotate into drink & serve.

CANTALOUPE SMOOTHIE
Yield: 1 Servings

1 Ripe banana
1/4 Ripe cantelope
1/2 c Nonfat or low-fat yogurt
2 tb Skim-milk powder
1 1/2 tb Orange-juice concentrate
2 ts Honey

If on a hurried morning you eat nothing but this smoothie, you will
still be doing your body a favor. The drink packs a powerful punch of
potassium, calcium, vitamin C and beta carotene.

Place unpeeled banana in the freezer overnight or for up to 3 months.
Remove banana from the freezer snd let it sit for 2 minutes, or until
the skin begins to soften. With a paring knife, remove the skin.
(Don't worry if a little fiber remains.) Cut the banana into chunks
and put in a blender or food processor. Seed the cantelope quarter
and cut the flesh from the rind. Cut the flesh into chunks and add to
the blender. Add the remaining ingredients and blend until smooth.

Serves 1.

427 calories per serving: 21 g protein, 1 g fat, 86 g carbohydrate,
290 mg sodium; 8 mg cholesterol.

KAHLUA SMOOTHIE
Yield: 1 Servings

1 pt Vanilla ice cream
1/3 c Creme de cacao
1/3 c Kahlua

Preparation : Combine ingredients in blender and
process until smooth. Serve after dinner.

PAPAYA CREAMSICLE SMOOTHIE
Yield: 2 Servings

2 ea Papayas; ripe
1/2 c Orange juice
1/2 c Vanilla frozen yogurt

PREP TIME: 5 minutes

1. Peel, seed and coarsely chop papayas.

2. Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend
until smooth.

PER SERVING: 251 calories; 1.5g fat; 5% calories from fat; 7mg
cholesterol; 2.8g fiber.

2 c Sliced peaches
3 tb Lemon juice
1 tb Rum
1 c Chopped ice

Place all ingredients in blender and whirl for about 20 seconds. Serve
immediately. Serves 2
